As a technical component, cable releases belong to the category of mechanical presses. Their primary task is to apply point forces to remote locations with as little loss as possible. Like other mechanical or hydraulic presses, the mechanical release also consists of the main parts piston and cylinder. This is an elastic steel wire which, depending of teh design, is guided in a sheath made of different materials and ensures, among other things, that this type of release is also colloquially known as a "cable release". The classic application is photography, for which we cover all common applications with a variety of standard designs. However, we also manufacture individual types for special requirements.

Mechanical releases are also becoming increasingly important in industrial applications. Especially in situations where the exclusively manual, almost loss-free and absolutely reliable transmission of forces without any additional energy requirement plays an important role; e.g. in the actuation of emergency stop switches inside electrical and process engineering plants, which can no longer be accessed without endangering the operating personnel in the event of a disaster. ohne zusätzlichen Energiebedarf eine wichtige Rolle spielt; z.B. bei der Betätigung von Not-Aus Schaltern im Inneren von elektrischen und verfahrenstechnischen Anlagen, die im Katastrophenfall ohne Gefährdung für das Bedienerpersonal nicht mehr zugänglich sind.
